Always question the common truth

If you hear the same thing several times from different people, there are two options:

  • Either it is a true based on experience
  • Or it is a false belief that is just repeated too many times and that people stop questioning

As a rule of thumb, it is safe to assume that most of the things we take for granted are just blunt beliefs without scientific ground.

One good habit is to be attentive to such events, and not accept any new information for granted until you have rational ground to accept it as a fact.

For people growing up with social media, knowing that most information is inaccurate, biased or false, it is difficult to get perspective and question the information we receive. It’s just too much data to process.

Even though it is beneficial to obtain new knowledge, it might be better to take a step back and take information in, one at the time.
